About FHKGM

The Federation of Hong Kong Garment Manufacturers (FHKGM) was incorporated in 1964 and established in early 1950s with the former name of Hong Kong Garment Manufacturers Union. The Federation aims to:

  • Promote and protect the interests of manufacturers and merchants in the Hong Kong garment industry
  • Research into all matters affecting the interests of the trade
  • Promote unity and friendship among garment manufacturers and merchants
  • Protect the reputation of the trade in the garment industry
  • Make representations to governments and authorities on matters affecting FHKGM members

FHKGM members are all experienced in the garment industry while most of them have got factories located in Mainland China or overseas with markets of USA and European Union (EU). The Federation is also eagerly to participate in social and community services with representatives in the below advisory bodies or organisations:

  • Textiles Advisory Board (TEXTAB), HKSAR Government
  • Clothing Industry Training Authority (CITA)
  • Textile and Clothing Training Board, Vocational Training Council (VTC)
  • Garment Advisory Committee, Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC)
  • Advisory Committee on Textile and Clothing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU)
